Volleyball Game

What is Volleyball Game

Volleyball is a team sport played with a ball and a net. There are teams on each side of the net. One team hits the ball over the net and into the other team's court, the other team must then hit the ball back over the net and in bounds within three tries without letting the ball touch the ground.

There are two kinds of Volleyball, they are Team Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
Team Volleyball played indoor on a court with 6 players per team allowed to play inside the court. While Beach Volleyball played outdoors on the sand or on the beach with 2 players per team.

When and Where Volleyball Started?

The game of volleyball, originally called “mintonette,” was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan after the invention of basketball only four years before. Morgan, a graduate of the Springfield College of the YMCA, designed the game to be a combination of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball.

Volleyball has come a long way from the dusty-old YMCA gymnasium of Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA, where the visionary William G. Morgan invented the sport back in 1895. It has seen the start of two centuries and the dawn of a new millennium.
